ObjectNow Objection Tool
MachairWind Offshore Wind Farm
The proposed MachairWind Offshore Wind Farm and associated Marine Licence applications are currently subject to public consultation. If you believe the proposal could affect Scotland's seascapes, landscapes, wildlife, historic environment, coastal communities or other planning matters, you have the opportunity to submit a representation before the consultation closes.
Our platform will guide you through creating a personalised, evidence-based objection using the relevant planning policies, environmental legislation and the applicant's own Environmental Impact Assessment. Every objection can be reviewed, edited and expanded in your own words before it is submitted, ensuring your views form part of the official planning record considered by the Scottish Ministers.
Once you have submitted your objection, please also consider supporting our public petition. While separate from the statutory planning process, it helps demonstrate the level of public concern surrounding the proposed development.
Objections should be submitted by 15 August 2026. Submitting before the deadline ensures your objection is fully taken into account.

What ObjectNow is. ObjectNow is a civic participation platform that helps you prepare and submit planning and consultation representations. It is a facilitation tool only: it does not provide legal advice, planning consultancy, or professional representation, and using it does not create any such relationship.
Your responsibility for the content. ObjectNow may generate, suggest, restructure, or assemble objection content by drawing on pre-prepared material and foundational materials. You remain solely responsible for reviewing, approving, and accepting the final content before it is submitted. Any changes, additions, or personal comments you make are entirely at your own discretion and responsibility. You should read your submission carefully before sending it.
How your submission is sent. Depending on the campaign, your representation may be emailed on your behalf to, or prepared for you to submit to, planning authorities, government bodies, reporters, consultation portals, or other relevant decision-making authorities. Once submitted, your representation is subject to the control and publication policies of the receiving authority.
Publication by authorities. Planning authorities and public bodies may publish representations (including names, addresses, and submitted content) on publicly accessible websites or planning portals. ObjectNow requests redaction of personal information where appropriate, but publication decisions rest entirely with the receiving authority and are outside ObjectNow's control.
Petitions. Where petition functionality is used, petition support may accompany or reinforce a wider campaign but does not by itself constitute a formal statutory objection unless it is separately submitted through the relevant statutory process.
Your personal data. ObjectNow processes personal data only as far as necessary to operate the platform (including generating and sending your submission, confirming your email address, keeping security, delivery, and audit records, preventing abuse, and supporting campaign functionality) in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Keeping your own record. A receiving authority is under no obligation to acknowledge your representation or to publish it on its portal, and timescales for doing so vary. For this reason, we recommend you keep your own copy of your objection letter together with your objection reference number. If a question ever arises about whether your objection was received, ObjectNow can provide a record showing that your submission was sent, along with the date and time it was sent.

Help us build an objection that genuinely reflects your own concerns
Every person may be affected by a proposal in different ways. Some people may be most concerned about wildlife, landscape or flooding, while others may be concerned about noise, traffic, heritage or effects on their community.
To help ensure your representation accurately reflects your own views, each planning topic has been divided into more specific concerns. Please consider each topic and select only the issues that genuinely matter to you. Your final objection will be assembled from the choices you make rather than automatically including every available issue.
There are no right or wrong selections. If a topic or concern does not apply to you, simply leave it out and continue. You will also be able to add your own comments and review the completed objection before deciding whether to submit it.
Planning Topics
About Your Concerns
You have selected the planning topics that reflect your concerns. The next questions give you an opportunity to explain how the proposal affects you, your local area or the way you use the site. Answer only those that are relevant to your circumstances.
Please describe any concerns based on your own experiences or local knowledge. Only include matters that are relevant to the proposed development.
This could include places you value, wildlife you regularly observe, local activities or anything else you believe has not been fully recognised.
Use this space for any additional planning-related comments that you believe are relevant.
Additional Information
Optional. Add anything further in your own words about how the proposal affects you, your home, your business, your community or the local environment.
Review Your Objection
Your objection will now be assembled from the planning topics and specific concerns you selected, together with any information you added in your own words. You will be able to review and edit it before submission.

it does not submit your objection.
You can attach up to 3 images (JPEG or PNG, 2MB each after compression).
They will be sent as attachments alongside your letter, and referenced at
the end of your letter as "Att: Supporting-Image-1.jpg" etc. Images are
never stored on our server — they exist only long enough to send
your email, then are permanently deleted.
